The Fun Of Motocross

Hi, I am writing from India.(Kerala, South India) Motocross in India, especially in South India is a very interesting and humorous sport because most of the participants do not own real Motocross bikes. None of the well known bike companies like Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki or other local bike companies in India, do not manufacturer Motocross bikes. Therefore, racers in India have to purchase normal road bikes and then modify them into actual Motocross bikes. Of course, it never gives the performance and strength of a normal standard Motocross bike. Even though, sometimes you can see these talented young guns winning races with them. Racing accessories like helmet accessories, etc., are available in India, but do not have international standards, yet this is what a lot of the amateur racers use. Nowadays, most racers here are forced to choose four stroke bikes because two stroke bikes are no longer available in India. If you are a real racing nut and have got a lot of money in your pocket then you have to import a real professional Motocross bike from the Middle East. This would cost you at least one and a half to two lakh Indian rupees for the 250CC Motocross bike. In South India there is not even a single racing school so most of the racers like myself, learned by reading and researching the net and trying our own riding styles. Of course, this could be disastrous and lead to injuries and other problems. Due to the lack of proper training most of the amateur racers lose races in front of experienced and professional riders from other parts of India. However, there are still famous and several time National Motocross Champions and Asian Motocross Champions from South India. Most importantly, these champions taught themselves in their very own backyards. Still in India as each and everyday goes by, the number of Motocross racers are increasing and willing to run their own races. However, the government and other public authority figures never allow to conduct official races especially in the state of Kerala. Most importantly, the minimum age requirement to ride automobiles and bikes is age 18. Because of the price increase for fuel and other bike equipments, most of the normal riders cannot afford a lot to practice or attend race competitions. This is because there are very few sponsors in South India and still many people go racing with the help of their family and friends. But do you know what the best humor is in all this? I have been a Motocross and Stunt Performer for the past 8 years without any of my family’s knowledge. My friends and I used to perform bike stunts and other maneuvers in colleges and other local events to make money and gain more experience for upcoming races. Caution Motocross Racers Who Plan To Race In Kerala: Don’t forget to wear your helmet and other safety accessories because in Kerala Medical treatment is very expensive and the Medical assistance for that here is quite limited.
